Chamonix Non-Ski Activities
Chamonix is a thriving town with the charisma, hustle and bustle to match. There are some fantastic sightseeing, shopping and leisure opportunities including the Mer de Glace, the Aiguille du Midi, Chamonix swimming pool, a sports centre, cafes, pool and bowling halls, shops and bars galore. There is even a casino!

- The Tramway de Montenvers and the Mer de Glace: A steel cog train journey reveals the end of the Vallée Blanche and glacier as far as you can see. There’s an ice cave for the little ones and amazing views.
- The Aiguille du Midi: The cable car ride to the top of the 3842m peak is an experience in itself and a must for any budding photographer or mountain enthusiast. On a good day you can see Geneva or even Lyon protruding behind the immense glacier.
- The Chamonix Luge: 1,300m of track set in stunning scenery, floodlit at night and suitable for all ages.
- The Alpine Museum: We spend a lot more time on the mountains than we do in museums but this geological and human history of our valley held our attention well.
- Paragliding: Take off into the skies for a 25 minute descent back into Chamonix. Superb views and excellent experience.
- Snowshoe: There are some excellent trails and backcountry options available. Ask us to arrange this for you.
- QC Terme – a new Chamonix Spa Complex for winter 2018 / 2019: For a relaxing spa or massage only a short walk from our chalets.
- Chamonix Cinema: Great for the chalet evening off or early shows, including the major releases in English with French subtitles.
- Ride the Mont Blanc Express to Martigny, Switzerland: With time on your hands this is a truly epic and picturesque journey.
- Lunch in Courmayeur: Only a 20 minute ride through the Mont Blanc Tunnel an exquisite Italian lunch and hot chocolate is easy to achieve.
